Download it and run it on the computer and your computer will run as good as it did when you first got it.

pmwww | Re: My computer died on me (7th Aug 08 at 4:48am UTC) | | I don't have any money. Im currently on Toshiba Support forum, and PB support (another forum provider) and asking help:
This is what I get when I am half way through system recovery. and THE BEAST told me to go here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080125135215AAqB67d
I accidentally got a virus its called antispyXP 2008. Well I tried to remove it with Norton/windows Defender/1-2-3 anti spy on (from my U3 flash drive) well after 15 minutes my whole computer crashed. So I insert the recovery disc and every time I get half way it says:
<ERROR> An error has occurred. ERROR : 10-FC10-0017
Recovery error. please press ok to turn off the computer. ===============================================
and so I do, and then the system starts up then shows this:
BOOTMGR IS MISSING PLEASE PRESS CTRL + ALT + DEL TO RESTART YOUR SYSTEM.
So now I am doing the startup repair and its taking a long time, and every time hit cancel it tells me that it can't.
Well I would of never had it if I hadnt gotten into a torrent site.

pmwwwmsngtalk | Re: My computer died on me (7th Aug 08 at 5:32am UTC) | | I don't personally use torrents, because they are a pain in the first place, and I'm too lazy when I don't get seeds or w/e to download from. But that just sucks =/
The latest thing with virus's that I keep getting is MSN Virus's all over again. Which would be a nice thing to put out to everyone.
If someone sends you a message that looks a lot like this: "Hey! Check out this pic of you, you looks so ugly!" or "Hey, I just found a necklace check out the pic!" and is followed by a file don't accept it.
If you really do think it's your best bud sending you messages of real pictures, it most likely isn't. You better check with them by having them actually replying in some other way than MSN that it's them. I had a friend awhile back who had the problem, and he was able to talk at the same time and we luckily got it sorted out, but sometimes it's hard when it's someone you think you know well.

Reformat your entire system. That will take about 2 hours to reinstall windows and then probably a further 6 to install your programs.
One vital question, is XP the ONLY operating system that you've had on your computer? Or did you like 98 or 2000 before and installed XP over the top of it?

I did try to reformat it. I got to the second disc and this shows up: <ERROR> An error has occurred. ERROR : 10-FC10-0017
Recovery error. please press ok to turn off the computer.
And my moms desktop did not run any other version besides XP, and my laptop did not run any other OS besides Vista.

I understand that you're trying to format the entire thing, but are you using the Operating System Setup CD that came with it (if it came with one), or are you using a command line boot disk? What exactly are you using to format?

pmwww | Re: My computer died on me (7th Aug 08 at 7:16pm UTC) | | Hmm, your best bet would be to find a boot disk, and then check online for instructions on how to format your drive using command line functions.

There is nothing I can do, I can't even get into the command prompt. so Im erasing everything, I clicked on the erase hard disk, then when that is done in 4 hours, then it will add the correct things in, and add the OS, because it said it could not find it.
