It's in order to prevent cracked admin accounts or accidents from resulting in destroyed forums that we don't instantly delete data from the database, including posts, members, boards and categories.
Is there a particular reason you need to use the same ID? If you let me know the forum url and the IDs of the categories then I can restore them (allowing you to just modify it).

That category has been restored.
There is the possibility for admins to be able to restore their own categories/boards but so far there has not been the demand for such a feature | |
