The category ID chosen is already in use.

This happens whenever I try to create a category using an ID of a recently deleted category

How recent did you delete the category? It could be that you just need to wait a few hours.

Between a few days ago and a week ago

I do believe that you have to use the 'purge' option to then open the id up to use again.

I have to wait 2 weeks after deletion to purge it

It's in order to prevent cracked admin accounts or accidents from resulting in destroyed forums that we don't instantly delete data from the database, including posts, members, boards and categories.

Is there a particular reason you need to use the same ID? If you let me know the forum url and the IDs of the categories then I can restore them (allowing you to just modify it).

Hi,

That category has been restored.

There is the possibility for admins to be able to restore their own categories/boards but so far there has not been the demand for such a feature

Well I think it would be a good feature to add just in case it is needed just like this
