I support her for it. I really like the vigilante justice system adults have taken towards kids- if you do something wrong, let everyone else judge. How many times would you misbehave if you thought everyone would know about it tomorrow?
It also tends to reinforce the action as being wrong more than as the parent being mean.

The way I see it, there's going to be things that I won't like that people will do. But some of those things (say if it were my nonexistant kids...) they've got to experience and there's nothing I can do about that. But drinking and driving is a definite no if I'm the one who's paying for it. It's a privilege, not a right. And if my kid disregarded one of my set, unmoving rules, then, too bad for them. They better have learned. | |

It then turned out it wasn't his alcohol, but apparantly her rules stated no alcohol in the car, so him being the designated driver was just as bad. Pretty stupid in my opinion, if he didn't drink and drive he didn't do anything wrong.

I will get their license suspended as well. I don't care, of course they can experience alcohol underage. But they better not be the driver.
If my kid gets drunk he better call me or get a ride and better not be the designated driver or drinking. If was the designated driver I would still think they had drunk. No alcohol in your car under the age of 21. It's illegal in the US to even have it in poccession under 21. | |
