Not necessarily - then it'd have to be controlled by one place (like the European Cental Bank in Brussels controls the Euro). Many factors like interest rates, import/exports control the currency rate and if there was a universal currency, every country would be affected by a problem in one country. As it stands, most problems can be kept "in house" as it were, and any widespread damage would be limited. | |
