£27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:39pm
This guy downloaded 20 TV shows/films using his phone as a connection for his PC:

In fact, it [his contract] only covered a measly 120Mb of downloads a month. That said, after he exceeded the amount, Vodafone started charging him at an extortionate rate, sometimes up to £18 per minute.

£18 a minute? Jesus Christ....

Though part of me thinks it's a bit stupid using a phone as a makeweight connection for that length of time.

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:45pm
Yeah, to check emails or something is fine... but for downloading! {Shocked}

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By XeroCint (kai) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:49pm
Even for emails that would hurt o,o

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:50pm
Well no, because the thing is (if you read the article) he had some download included in his contract. That amount he surpassed quickly. Checking emails, you wouldn't surpass that amount.

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By XeroCint (kai) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:52pm
Well, true, but if he gets a lot of spam that has a lot of images.. Maybe?

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By Graham (amusedtodeath) on 3rd Jan 08 at 12:55pm
It all depends on the download limit he has. I check my emails on my phone a bit and it costs...10p a min. I've not yet passed my quota on just emails. Probably will at some point though {Unsure}

Hehe I usually get 4 MB of GMail... half is spam though, a fourth YouTube comments, and the other just randoms

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 3rd Jan 08 at 1:08pm
But you don't download all of those emails to your phone in 1 day!

What is £27,000 in U.S. Currency? $27,000?

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 3rd Jan 08 at 4:00pm
Thats insane! He has to be pretty stupid not to know he can't download a boat load of music and video without paying more than what his plan costs.

Roughly $54,000. assuming that the rate of £1=$2 is about right.

Re: £27,000 Phone Bill - Posted By tricky.cb (crazyblue) on 3rd Jan 08 at 4:12pm
I don't think its exactly 1-2, but yeah its about $54,000 which could buy some pretty nice stuff.

Pounds and Pence my dear friend {Smile} We've not had a referendum on the European currency yet.

it's roughly £1-$2 (give or take) and it works out as...$53,218.51, if you go by this site

I didn't think it was exactly, probably more like 1-1.92 or something dumb. I think the whole world needs one currency, makes everything easier.

according to my mom that means one is thinking like the devil cause according to the bible that means its the end of the world.
Just cause someone thinks universally doesn't mean they are the devil.
Am i the devil?

Not necessarily - then it'd have to be controlled by one place (like the European Cental Bank in Brussels controls the Euro). Many factors like interest rates, import/exports control the currency rate and if there was a universal currency, every country would be affected by a problem in one country. As it stands, most problems can be kept "in house" as it were, and any widespread damage would be limited.

I know its almost impossible but for the people it would make it easier. It would make it harder for the people who have to deal with it all. In the end its probably worth the 300636032053230523 different types of currencies.
