I don't think that's entirely true. If a band records their song in studio, and they do each instrument individually then there has to be a file of the that piece of music that is done by music layers so one thing can be taken out, edited, etc. | |

Yes, but as far as I know layered files are never put into the public, thus the only [legal] option he has is to buy a licensed copy of it from the record company. | |
