What do you think is the best web browser?

I voted other, because i use aol.

I would have to vote for Mozilla.

Mozilla Firefox. Just the best out there in my opinion.

AOL is IE, Well basically it is, it runs off of it, and runs in its own format.

If you'd like to get technical, Firefox is actually Netscape running in its own format. Which is actually Gecko as that's the browser engine that runs them.

However, Ajay, please add some questions that will generate some discussion rather than one word answers so the thread doesn't have to be locked.

Meh Netscape is alright, Netscape was our first web browser back in '00.

I never used Netscape. I've used the MSN type browser, AOL, Internet Explorer, Opera, Safari, and Firefox. Opera and Safari battle with Firefox pretty well, but I always end up coming back to Firefox.

I mostly use Firefox. I use IE when I need to.

Definitely Firefox. You don't get any better than that in my opinion.

If I was just going to use a browser as it was when I downloaded it, I would have to say Opera, but I use a lot of add-ons in Firefox.

If i'm generally browsing, then i'll use Firefox. If i'm checking my emails then it's IE (as i haven't worked out yet how to get MSN to open my emails in FF)...if i'm doing any compatability checks then i'll throw in Opera too.

I still use IE7 for 90% of my browsing as I find it starts up very quickly (especially compared to firefox) and browses pretty quickly too. However I will use Fx quite a bit when testing layouts/templates.

I don't leave my machine on all the time, I can't leave it open when my machine is running another memory intensive program (like a game) & I know I use 2/3 different machines a day. So that extra wait for the browser to load does add up.

And even then, I still find IE will load most pages quicker than Fx. I know I'm outnumbered though so am not going to bother trying to prove my point

IE7 for me. Although i need to install other browser's to see if my custom template work's 100% in them.

Since i don't fee like downloading anything tonight, i'm going to drink a beer and talk to IE7 a little. Just thank IE7 for saving all my pretty little web favorites.

aaaah, Snakie loosing his mind. Time to cut the grass outside. I wish one of the browser's could mow the lawn for me.

I always have and always will use Avant.

i voted for IE but i actually use Maxthon which is a beefed version

I have IE, but it sucks. Maybe it's because I haven't upgraded it yet.

Of Course, its the best browser, very safe and effective. It always loads up fast for me, I think it has to deal with the computer, it don't matter how fast your internet speed is, because you can have a fast internet conection, and it will still browse slowly, take my laptop and my moms desktop for a example. My lptop is fast, so I browse faster, my moms computer is old, and runs a bit slower. school has fast internet, their computers are new, but it still runs slow, im on my lptop, and it runs faster.

What about the new safari for windows? I use that sometimes.

I tried to get Safari but it kept on saying "file corrupted" from apple's site. and I was downloading the windows version, I made sure, double checked.

Safari never worked when I downloaded it, installed then broke!

I downloaded safari the other day from the apple site. And so far I'm impressed with the way it works, the way it looks and the speed it loads at. My only issue with it has been the lack of addons. Apparently there is a web developer addon similar to the ones I use for IE and Fx but all the downloads for it I found were broken.

Ok I downloaded Safari from download.com and it still says file corrupted , is it because I am running in Vista? and Ross by Fx you mean Fire Fox?

I totally love Opera. It has all the features I need for efficient browsing and some more. Also, it is incredibly light on memory and starts up and runs without any significant RAM imprint. Not to mention, Opera is usually the first browser to support newer web standards always.

An internal Opera 10 build was the first browser to pass Acid 3.

No I don't have a Mac. I got it from apple (safari). Soon to get a mac book pro with Flash, Dreamweaver, Indesign, and some others.

oh ok, because the way the desktop is set up with the icons at the bottom the way Mac's are.
