Problem:

I want to make a member on my board a moderator but is there somewhere I can decide what moderation they can do, for instance and main thing is I don't want them to be able to ban members.

Hi Amy,

If you go to your admin panel you should find a section there called "Member Groups". If you go into the section to "Modify Member Group" and then choose the "Moderator" group you will be able to control what administration/moderation powers they have. There should be a description next to each one explaining what it does.
For the moderation powers you can choose to "Limit" them, what this means is that they will only be able to perform those actions in boards where you explicitly list them as a moderator (you can do that via the "Admin Panel" -> "Modify Board" page)

Hopefully that makes sense. Any other questions, please ask {Smile}

That's something I didn't know. {Smile} The limited part for specified boards. I guess I didn't take my time to read everything. xD

Cheers for replies, now I am having another but related problem.

When I first set up the forum I appointed myself Admin for all the boards which then displayed led by Amy, now I have made a member Administrator and another member a Moderator, and I want their names to appear on some of the boards so it reads led by (their name (s)

I have tried putting in their usernames seperated by a , where i want them both to mod the same board, I have put them in the members groups as Admin1 and Mod2 and put these in , but again to no avail.

When i look at the forums on the home page no names are vissable and when i go back to modify board the names i put in have disapeared , I have remembered to click on Modify board .

I,m sorry to be a pain but this is all new to me LOL.

Amy, you're not being a pain don't worry. We're here to help! {Smile}

To help quicker, could you provide a link to your forum? {Smile}

Ultimately, if you want people to appear on the home page where it says "led by", you need to add their username into the "moderators" box when you modify/add a board. {Smile}

I'm assuming from what you've posted, that you have tried that - A link would help us! {Smile}

Hi Amy,

You need to ensure you are using their username and not their display name (that is, the name they login with and not the name shown on their profile/posts). You can see this username in the URL of their profile page or it is shown in the top bar when modifying an account. eg. "Modify Profile - Amy (Username: admin)"

So for a board you want both yourself and another administrator to be listed on you would enter "admin, bpd" as the "moderators". I've done this on the first board for you {Smile}
