Ad-Free Not Working? (12th Apr 08 at 8:09pm UTC)
Hi,

http://budo.vforums.co.uk

Hi,

I purchased two credits today and went to an error page with code 200, I then purchased a further two credits and again was directed to the same error page. However, my PayPal account was debited by £4 so I have 4 credits due to me. I went to the 'apply credits' page but it said I had no credits.

Can you please apply my credits?

Thanks.

Please wait for Ross to appear. He knows this is a bug, and will rectify it quickly.

We apologise for the inconvenience! {Smile}

Hi Ross.

Thanks, the credits have shown and I applied them until July to see how it goes with forum page hits. However, the ads are still showing on my forum?
:-(

There should be an option on the Ad-Free page called "Pause Ad-Free". Ensure that is not enabled {Smile}

Hi,

You've applied all the credits to July rather than 1 to April, 1 to May, 1 to June & 1 to July. I'll have to manually reset them.

Update: I've adjusted your forums database so that they're spread across the 4 months {Smile}

Thanks Ross, you've sorted that and the general ads are now gone but the vforum links is still at the bottom of my forum although I've set the admin page not to display them - I set the ad-free link option to NO.

HELP! Ta!

PS Ross...

I've also tried setting the add-free link (for the bottom of the Page) to YES and it still displays the vforums link and buy credit link?

If you want to remove the bottom link add this code to your global headers:

<style>
#bottomtext {
    display: none;
}
</style>

Hi Wrighty!

Thanks for the info - that worked! I love the vforums message boards - very professionally done and very reasonably priced - keep up the GREAT work!!!! {Smile}

Just another question tho... How can I change the title heading for the forum on the top bar of my browser's window?

That should be in 'Forum Settings' under 'Board Name' {Smile}

Thanks again Wrighty.

I've looked around the settings and see how to restrict who can view, post, etc, in certain boards BUT I can't find the section where I can set the preferences to approve any messages submitted by forum members (instead of them posting straight to the board)?

Unfortunately that can't be done. If you feel that it's a feature that vF should have then feel free to post it in the Suggestions (you may be required to register).

Could I ask for what reason you want to 'approve' posts? If possible, I may be able to suggest a different method on how to go about it! {Smile}

The reason I would want to view postings before they are posted is to make sure that there are no silly postings, I understand that I can have everyone register as a member before being able to post and remove them and/or their posting afterwards but would prefer to get postings approved first.

What would you recommend?
