Problem: Banner on Skin

I have two problems. First I put in a url for a banner I wanted and it didn't show up. Maybe it is in the wrong spot?

I did.....Modify skin> Bluestream and entered the url in the banner image spot. Nothing happened.

The other problem that I think is related to this is that I only see the top half of the original banner that was put in there and the grey area that is below the original banner image has grown and covers up the bottom half of the banner ( the one I don't want anyways.) This only shows up when you are logged in...not as guest.

How to fix?

I might not work because if you put in the XML file into the header and footers it makes the banner of the pre-made template fixed to your site. You might have to look through the XML file for the banner: image src=" part if it has it or you might not be able to use the pre-made image.

Unfortunately, the premade skins are created to use as is. Not to use 'parts of' therefore, you can't use a different banner with it.

Sorry.

So what do I have to do to get a different banner in. Make up a customized skin? Where do I go for that?

To create a new skin -> Image => create Skin.

Then enter a name for the skin. Then go back to Image => Modify Skin => Click name => Modify

There you can enter colours, and the banner that you so want

Thanks. Just one further question...sorry actually two. {Wink}

Where can I find a color chart so I know what colors I am putting in and will this fix the half banner that I see now. As mentioned before in my first post ( I have removed the url i added) and the bottom half of the original banner is cut off ( and part of the text) and it looks strange

Color Chart

Also, you will have to change your default skin: Image => Forum settings to the new skin
And also, the one in your profile to the new skin.

And yes, if you entered the new banner URL when modifying that skin, then yes it'll show fine! If not, I'll eat my non-existant hat!

Well you only need to eat your hat IF you feel hungry. LOL

Thanks a bunch.

I am sure I will be over for various other things but for now I am happy. {Grin}
