Ads (3rd Mar 08 at 7:54pm UTC)
Ok, Im using Opera, the latest version. I have no ad blocker at all, yet:

To stop seeing these messages, please reconfigure your ad-blocker to accept ads from:
pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Or make this forum Ad-Free

It sometimes shows that, sometimes it shows the ad...
Weird no?

There must be something blocking the advertisements from being displayed, as the code checks whether or not the ads are visible.

Which OS are you using? We've have some problems with Vista blocking the ads in the past.

I use Vista.
It only happens every now and again.
So far, it's only happened once on here (vF Support Forum) and doesn't happen on a few other forums, and then on another it has happen about 5 or 6 times.

Yep. My very own PC.

Edit:
Just to clarify, the google ads work fine on EVERY other forum and website that I visit that uses them, apart from vF, thus far,.

My bad.

Go to your internet setings, and where it says "allow sites" enter that url and it *should* work.

I've never had issues viewing the site in Opera though so do not think that is the problem. Unfirtunately I've not got Vista so cannot really advise on what exactly might be blocking the ads. But a common culprit would be any firewall software you might be running, many of them include ad-blockers which block any ads they think are suspicious. If you don't want to risk changing your firewall settings then that is fine as the ads show up the majority of the time {Smile}

I can't find a bit in Opera for "allow sites", however I do see a bit for "blocked content", and there is nothing in there.
As for the firewall, I actually don't use one.

You don't use any firewall, add-blocker, or Virus protection software?

Hey stinky666, try IE or Fire Fox, and see if it is just Opera, or something that is causing it.

no, but some virus protectors block certain ads/sites.

Try going into your computer, and looking at the options, because this isn't an add problem then, it's a computer problem.

and try wat Darkmage said.
