pmskypemsnyahoo | WYSIWYG expand and disable. (19th May 09 at 7:47pm UTC) | | Suggestion; I would love to be able to expand this really nice new posting system to be a lot larger then it already is. Really helpful when working with large images and things. Also for members that have problems with the WYSIWYG or rather a plain old text box and the old regular UBBC and smilies, would that be an option?

pmwwwgtalkvForum | Re: WYSIWYG expand and disable. (19th May 09 at 10:41pm UTC) | | Having a "Full Screen" button is something I would like to see implemented - I have a blank space to fill anyway In regards to making the whole thing optional, in a word, no. But I intend to justify that from several angles: 1. The way the formatting buttons are outputted to the page is completly different when compared to the old way. This has been done to make the whole process easier for both myself and, in particular, skin designers. With the new method, they won't have to make and upload lots of individual images. If they want, they can just change the background of the existing ones (slip has made several sets of images in different colors - all with transparent backgrounds) or they can just upload one new image. 2. The WYSIWYG is not the only new functionality being introduced in this area. The image uploader for example is built into the editor, as is the spell checker. 3. Change is good. This takes vForums into a new direction. Lets at least see how well it is received and how well it works after it has been launched to all forums. This system has been in development for a very long time and to be quite honest I'm a little disappointed at some peoples reluctance to even give it a chance.

For me, It's allot easier to use, and now whenever I go to a forum that does not have WYSIWYG, I press the ctrl + B then I realize that will not work. I always like the WYSIWYG because it's like using a Word Processor like MSWord or MSWorks!

I believe that was reported as a bug a little while ago. It has since been fixed and, to the best of my knowledge, now works fine in all major browsers. Might be worth trying a hard refresh or even clearing your cache incase your browser has stored the old js file which didn't set the correct tab indexes.
