Multi Quote (2nd Mar 08 at 9:55pm UTC)
Now this is something that I know would be used alot. I would use it alot anyway.

Perhaps have a checkbox next to the quote button of each post to allow people to choose to quote more than 1 post.

If the boxes are selected, when you click 'reply', it then has the text box with each quote in there? {Smile}

Would be useful!

How about have it as both? Seeing a recent topic I can see its uses but have no idea on the best user interface to use. I can setup the backend to grab & display the content for multiple posts. I was thinking of something like:

action/post/board/suggestions/topic/10989/quote/10971|10990|10991/

As the URL which would then display the quotes for all 3 posts. But I've no idea on the best interface for users to choose which posts to quote.

I think a good way to implement this would be to have a floating div in the top-right corner of the screen that displays the posts currently in the "Quote Queue".

Have it so that when you click the quote button it changes 'look' to show it's in the quote queue, then simply, clicking reply will do it? {Smile}

Ohh, that'd work. {Smile}

Or even just have an asterisk appear beside it. {Wink}

Perhaps just make it so that the icon changes to a tick (with the quote word) instead of the current one when clicked? {Unsure}

So you mean have the icon beside the word "Quote" appear with a check mark on top of it?

That sounds pretty sexy; I'm all for that. {Smile}
