There isn't much to rate as of yet.

The concept of the actual forum looks pretty decent, but that's all I cancurrently say really.

You enjoy exclamation makrs obviously, these can be detrimental to your board descriptions as it implies that you are yelling at the people - thats what exclamation marks mean, if you didn't know.

I have to log in to view everything, so I can't really say how the set - up of your sub boards are, and that means that I can't see any content to interest me. That will be a problem you will encounter if you decide to continue with this approach. No one will want to join the forum as there is nothing to entice them! You need to be able to show your guests content so that they may in turn become excited about the forum and wish to join in on the fun. If you can't show them the fun that you and your members experience on the board then they can't decided to join in that fun can they? They can't see it and all guests need to see what the forum is about when deciding whether to register or not. That's probably the largest problem I can see at the moment with the forum.

Staff applications is a board that I really don't like. If you are looking for staff members then you select them yourself through how well you know your members, and not on the principal of getting applications.

The Discussion:Gaming board could be removed or placed as a sub - board in your general chat board. As your forum is about graphics, then people who join are interested in graphics design, not in gaming! The board will make your forum look inactive and be a detriment to the forum in the end.

Aside from that, you need to get a skin before you can really rate this. You need to allow guests to view a few boards so they can decide on the content and whether to join the forum or not.

This is probably the largest issue you have at the moment with this forum. You aren't allowing guests to see what is happening within the forum, this will mean that a lot of potential guests won't want to join because they can't see if the forum is any good in joining.

You need more posts too, most of your boards have 0 posts and 0 topics in them, fix that ASAP, it makes your forum look bad having it basically empty.

Thats all I can say really, this forum looks as though it took about 5 minutes to set up so far, that's the impression that I get and probably most of the people that view it.

There is no skin, no content and board descriptions aren't that great anyway. They need to be fixed up and a lot better. They are boring, one line descriptions that give us much information about the board as the title of the board does.

EXAMPLE:

Quote:

Discussion:Graphics
Discuss Graphics in Here

Really? I couldn't have been able to deduce that from the title of the board? The descriptions which is one of the first impressions that a guest gets need to be improved. They look as t hough ave had little to no thought process placed into them - this is a bad look.

Summary

  • Get a skin ASAP
  • Fix your board descriptions
  • Add content
  • Allow your guests to see the content without logging in/registering
  • Think your boards out more, remove ones like Staff Applications and move some of the others into Sub - Boards etc.

There isn't really much about this forum that is favourable except the whole idea behind it.

As a result of there being NOTHING to rate really, and only things to criticize and fix - up this forum receives:

0/10 <---the forum is incredibly unfinished, empty with no thought involved in it. This forum would have taken 5 minutes to construct based on the principle that you are using a default skin, haven't thought out your board placement very well, and using one line descriptions that give no more information than the title of the board.

This forum will not succeed if you allow it to continue like you are/have.

I have only 1 comment - kindly change the name of the forum. It is too similar to the short form used by ProVision.

True, but Provision is on a different forum provider, so i personally don't see the issue.

The issue is that any advertisement for the forum will automatically capitalize on the popularity of the pre-existing ProV. But I guess a different forum system is probably ok.

Hardly... SSD is currently dead and SoCal isn't design ,it's coding.

The largest is SI if I'm not mistaken..

SSD is still the largest - no matter what activity or not. SI is brilliant too.

Anyways, let's go back to the forum at hand here.

You need to get a proper skin before you get a rate.
