dog199200 Guest | Re: Final Fantasy Nation (15th Apr 08 at 3:02am UTC) | | I give it a 8/10
Positive
*I has a really nice skin setup, buttons and all. *It has a nice board setup, not to many and not to less. *It has posts, forums with blank boards are tacky.
Negative
*The info center is plain and needs to be customized for the site. *Not a big can on non integrated chat boxes, they are unpro and look really tacky and are first subject to meaningless spam from guests. *The Welcoem Table or Info Tables or what ever you call it make the site look really bad, maybe update it and turn it into a side panel instead of at the top.

Well Im not a good forum coder, and I don't feel like asking anyone to make a new info center, and I did have side menu's on my other forum, people said it slowed down their connection, really bad were they had to turn their computer off. for the Cbox, I have really good manage on it, so any spam will and have been taking care of before anyone sees it.

pmmsnxfire | Re: Final Fantasy Nation (15th Apr 08 at 8:10pm UTC) | | Hi, first I'd just like you to know that these are my personal opinions, so please don't get upset if you disagree. Thanks.
First Sight: At first sight I see a fairly plain looking forum. Nothing is popping out to grab my attention. The banner looks great but there's no contrast between that and the rest of the forum. Maybe try adding darker parts and lighting. As for the background, I see it's a wallpaper. This is good, if the resolution is very high. In this case, it only measures 1024x768 pixels, and on many home computers, people are running at very high resolutions, which means your background shows up small. (ex: http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/2060/ffnqi9.jpg) Images: This is something that's lacking. You do have a banner and background, which I already commented on. The On/Off icons match the theme nicely. I think for the menu buttons, they'd be better off as a shade of blue, or take advantage of vForums's great gradient maker and add a dark color in there. Again, more images would be nice. Colors: These are a nice mix. You've done a good job matching everything up, but I think a little contrast would be nice. Add something dark (as in a background color, not text). Also, the shoutbox could follow the same trend as everything else with the light and darker blues instead of just the darker shade of blue. Nothing else to suggest here. Coding: You have a good variety of scripts in there, so that's nice to see. Tells me that you're trying to set you board apart from others in the genre. I do however think you should make the width of your tables (info and affiliates table) the same as the rest of the forum. I'm also not the biggest fan of those shoutboxes because when you put 88x31 affiliate buttons in there, it looks like there should be 2 rows since the box is so tall. Maybe get one where it doesn't have your coding posted and instead when you click on your mini-banner, it auto-copies the code. Oh and add a break in between the affiliates table and the shoutbox. Code: - <br />
Again, other than those few things, nothing else needs to be done. Boards/Layout: Great work (from what I can tell (I don't do RPs)). Everything seems to be organized well except for in the General category I think you should move Fan Fic and Fan Art above Advertise since they have more to do with the theme of the forum. Also just some punctuation errors, capitalize the "b" in In the beginning and the "w" in the welcome board. Overall (out of 10) Overall I can tell there was time put into this community, and I think if you keep trying hard, you can make it a success. Based off what I posted above and seeing the state it's in (activity is short), I'll give you a 5/10. You're halfway to perfect, just need to tweak it out a little bit.
Again, hope this helps and these are just my opinions.

pmwww | Re: Final Fantasy Nation (16th Apr 08 at 7:23pm UTC) | | Ive noticed that, about the wallpaper. This is the problem, I run in 1024x768, and so does everyone else I know, but here is another thing, If I make it 1280x1024 or something like that, it will not look so good on smaller resolutions, that is a problem to all Graphic Designers, as I beleive. The skins is supposed to be about light blue, so no darker colors will be added. If a member/guest wants a darker skin they can simply go to the bottom of the forum go to the skin chooser and change the skins, there are 4 skins in all.
The problem with the Info and Affiliate center is that on a 1024x768 res. it looks normal, and on a higher res. its streched and as I said before I am not that good of a coder.
For the fan fic and fan art I randomly added it. So I did'nt get a chance to change it and forgot about it . lol I guess I miss those 2 punct. errors.
Thanks for your rate and I will definetly get to the things that can really be helped.

For the affiliate table, instead of using a percentage use an exact measurement of the width of your board (ex. 500px).

pmwww | Re: Final Fantasy Nation (16th Apr 08 at 7:33pm UTC) | | Thanks. but were will this part be at? every time I messed with the width of the Affiliate table, I will always get the wrong part, and the part with the banner would be all messed up.
Nevermind I found it ^_^ it was the very first percentage. Thanks.

I'll give it an 8/10. | |
Re-host any pictures or buttons that I make for you if needed.
