pmskypemsnyahoo | GoDaddy Boycott. (1st Apr 11 at 12:10am UTC) | | How do you guys feel about the massive boycott of thousands of people against GoDaddy?
Videos of the CEO are out that were of him killing elephants for fun. Elephants are one of the smartest animals in the world, they're pretty much like dolphins. They experience emotion. Killing one of them causes the entire herd to get heart broken. They can die of heart break.
I personally don't use GoDaddy. I had one person on my reseller ask me if their domain was with GoDaddy. I emailed everyone hosted by me telling them that their domain is not with GoDaddy. After this, I for sure won't be using them for my domain names now!
I put a blog article on my reseller's main domain, where I usually put status updates. I posted this:
Quote: Elephants are wonderful and majestic creatures. They are capable of experiencing emotion, and they can even die of heart break. There are several incidents and stories about these grand and majestic creatures. I do not support the killing of elephant. A single elephant being slain can devastate the entire family. Much like how it is for us. How would you feel if your brother, sister, or parent was killed? Elephants feel the same exact way as we do. They're endangered animals! So very rare, and there aren't many of them left! Our meat industry works hard, however, in the United States, we don’t slaughter animals for mass production that has highly developed emotions such as dolphin, elephants, the great apes, or let alone ourselves. Elephants are highly intelligent creatures. They’re loved by many. In fact, they’re Kate’s favorite animal (after Xena of course)! GoDaddy’s CEO shot and killed an elephant and leopard. He has been in Africa before, and possibly killed more elephants. He had done this for his personal enjoyment. I’m proud to say that the Ashkir [dot] com network DOES NOT use GoDaddy. We in fact use Name.com

I've always had a funny feeling about the guy who runs GoDaddy. I've read a few of his blog updates & tweets and just got the feeling that if ever I met him I would not like him.

I signed up on GoDaddy once, ever since then I got a million emails, and rail life mailings! I have a real life friend whom used GoDaddy, she told she's transferring off when it's time to renew.
Is eNom's reseller program as good as they say? Individual domains seem a bit costly. I got most of mine at name.com for 7.99 each + privacy protection.
Edit: I also never understood the Go Daddy girls. It was kind of awkward seeing the Joan Rivers commercial on... with that tight GoDaddy shirt. My poor eyes!

A word of advice, don't ever do a domain lookup on GoDaddy. If you do, it somehow magically gets registered by a domain hoarding company exactly 24 hours later that in turn tries to sell the domain to you for hundreds (sometimes even thousands) of dollars -- speaking from personal experiences here.

pmwww | Re: GoDaddy Boycott. (1st Apr 11 at 7:45pm UTC) | | I've been with GoDaddy for almost a year with iDirectory in August. I only get emails if I change something within the system, and that's rarely to none.
I've never had an issue with them, I looked up iDirectory.us on GoDaddy, and 48 hours later I bought it for $2.99 with no issues. I don't get the issues people have with them. It's just like Vista, I'm not quite sure what issues people had with that either.
So I'm sticking with them, because I don't have any where else to go on that, unless I re-register under my host, but then I get no control over the domain settings or anything else like power web hosting.

I've got a few domains with them...5 or 6 i think. They've been ok so far and while i dont agree with their practices individually i'll wait until they piss me off personally fortunately my hosting is not with them so moving the domains (if needed) shouldnt be a problem.
Still rate them above 1&1, they piss me off no end.

Lets just face it, most domain registrars are rubbish in some way or another

And my randomizer service is on GoDaddy among other things. Moving them (again) is going to be way too much of a pain >.<

It's true. But now they have a method. If you are a customer they send you an e-mail. DOMAIN.TLD may still be available. If you leave it for about 2-3 weeks, someone will surely take it.
