It's my luck.... (29th Dec 09 at 4:43am UTC)
I have bad luck..... no doubt about it... I'm always having problems with my computer.. my HDD always messing up on me. My OS's always crashing on me. and now my screen cracking on me....

Luckily my tv is capable of S-Video connection. But as of now, I wont be on my computer as much as I used to as now if I wanted to be on, I have to be connected to a monitor. I'd connect it to a computer monitor we have but, those are all old (windows 3.1 monitor which is says 1990, and a windows 95 monitor which was made in well '95 of course)and do not support a newer graphics card.

-_- It's always my bad luck.

You do know that monitor's age has absolutely nothing to do with if it's compatible or not. Use them dude. Windows 7 should detect the correct resolution for them. Heck I have a '94 monitor that still works, and it displays everything.

I'd like to know how that screen broke... What did you do? Sit on the poor thing XD.

I've already tried both monitors, it's all fuzzy though. Both screen work just fine on my Windows 3.1 machine though. {Tongue Out}

and my cat tried jumping over it, and landed on it and thats when it cracked. I already had a green line on the side of it when I first dropped it a few months ago, the green line didn't hurt anything so I just left it alone, then a red line started to show. So I guess it was already cracking, but wasnt as bad and my cat must have broke the camels back, or in this case my laptop's screen. {Tongue Out}

Now I am stuck at 1024x768 res, instead of 1280x800. >_>

Yep. Don't let anything else be a surprise. {Tongue Out} Because it's not to me anymore. I wouldn't be surprised if this computer blows up.

and Anthony when i connect a Monitor up this is what it does: http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x20/magedesigns/misc/122809_234100.jpg Did the same with Vista, XP and 7.

resolution problem. Your gfx card is set for a higher res. On CRT monitors, the res isn't auto detectable. Connect PC to TV and set res to the lowest possible. Then connect to monitor! {Smile}

K, I tried that, and it didn't work. though I can connect it to a Dell monitor and it works just fine. But For this old IBM monitor it doesn't. This time it was all black with a few lines going up. and a few seconds later it switched back to my TV and said it wasn't able to connect properly.

Maybe I should start paying attention to these threads more often. But Micheal is right.

Tho, my CRTs must be newer cuz mine auto detect the correct res.

Oh and there's nothing wrong with 1024 by 768. Still a mainstream res for those with smaller monitors, granted it isnt the most pretty res. But grow up Nick, get used to a lower res. (That way when you get a big res again you'll be like holy cow this screen is huge {Tongue Out} )

Anyway, I'm off to go play in the snow... with my snowmobile.

P.S. - Nick quit whining, and just use the bloody monitor, so you can't move around, your fault, not the cat's.

P.S.S. - (if there is even such a thing... XD) Ok, so it might be harsh, but I'm used to low res, my main PC using a flat panel was a lucky incident when my 17" CRT pins bent.

I'm off for now! Adios!

yes yours is newer obviously as this was made in 1995. and I have no problem with low res. I didn't say I had a problem either, my TV only lets me go to 1024x768 (until I hook it up with HDMI {Grin} at least I hope that works) {Tongue Out} so Yeah I have no problem.

and how's it my fault? she's the one jumping on my stuff, not me. {Tongue Out}

Thanks Michael for the pointer.

Oh and shocking enough I fixed my annoying video adapter -- Yay me.

(Now only if Nick had just as good luck {Tongue Out} )

I have no luck lol. this laptop is ready about to go completely if I don't get it fixed soon. {Tongue Out} but I might just get a brand new computer. and I wouldn't have to worry about it breaking because NO ONE WILL TOUCH IT BESIDES ME. {Tongue Out}

lol. My cat has no restrictions on where she can jump. My laptop was on my bed, and she walked over the laptop stepping on the corner, which the pressure built, and when I opened my laptop, it went crack. {Tongue Out}

Anyways I'm fine. I'm going to treat this as a desktop now. I'm gonna buy a cheap LCD monitor from Walmart, or Staples, and use it that way. {Smile} Though I now do have less time on my computer, before I had all the time in the world to be on my laptop. Now that it's stuck up in my room. I am limited to night time usage, and I use my PSP for a few things, like messengers, and our forums cbox.
