What should we do about this?
I say we take vF banners, and spam advertise all over forums xD

pmwww | Re: We need to liven this place up!! (18th Jan 09 at 2:20pm UTC) | | It's always hard with a support forum - the main reason it is here is to provide support but it's always nice to have a thriving community
Any advertising is good, as long as it is done properly and not seen as 'spamming'

I have been trying to get a friend to switch services I dunno how its working. But he wanted to see a forum, so I made a forum, and let him see it, and gave him an admin pos. to see what the Admin section looks like. Just not sure if he is going to do it or not.

pmwww | Re: We need to liven this place up!! (18th Jan 09 at 2:53pm UTC) | | That's a good plan - the best way to see if a service is any good is seeing it for themselves!
It may seem a bit 'boring' but i think if the number of topics is improved and the activity increases, it'll improve greatly. We're working on a few new features which will help bring people in

@Ross; lol I guess vForums is flawless. I'm glad you made vF Its more flexible, and easier to use. Plus I understand the coding here (Somewhat ) where as other services, I got really confused on it.

(20th Jan 09 at 7:52am UTC) | | I have a few things I'd like to see added to vForums; but I honestly must say, this is the most flexible free software I seen. Well...actually in terms of easy to use, most flexible forum software there is. XD

darkdays Guest | Re: We need to liven this place up!! (22nd Jan 09 at 10:57pm UTC) | | You could just advertise to your friends that vForums Support can do things other service providers won't do for their members...
or advertise that vForums has features other service providers may never release, or not release until future versions...
or show them that vForums's owner cares about their members more (by dealing with Support issues directly, instead of hiring other people to do them) than other service providers' owners...
or show them that the vForums software is taken care of professionally, instead of being nearly neglected for a year and a half while its main owner plays WoW.

That's the problem. I tried that with 1 other person, he wants http://his-domain-name.com/forum but does not want to pay for the service to have it like that. MyBB, PHPBB and what ever else lets you have your own domain name like that.

Have you explained to him that it's only a one-time setup fee, and not a recurring payment?

Unfortunately no remotely hosted service service can give the /forum part; however many can put your forum onto your own sub-domain. To the best of my knowledge, we provide that setup for less than many competitors (if not all). Plus ours is a one off setup fee while others require you to pay a set fee for using your own domain name every year. (Looks like marc beat it too me with that point though )
