Where you buy the domain generally doesn't matter; places like GoDaddy offer them for about $7 if I can remember correctly.

The hosting, however, all depends on what you want to do. It's generally best to get something with PHP support, and extra addons. For your hosting account, I suggest AlphaRed - I'll be making an account with them this upcoming week.

I would suggest Go-Daddy for your domain. They have hosting too but I don't know how good it is because I never tried it.

Hey Marc don't you have a website builder?

At cr0wonline you had it so they could build a website through your service.

For domains, i normally go through 123-reg. I did have hosting with them but it was rubbish {Tongue Out}

For the hosting, i currently use BigWetFish (my portfolio site), Dreamhost (business site with a friend) and Bluehost (record label host) and HostGator (site i'm building). I'd go for BWF or HostGator personally as the service is good, prices are competitive and the support is pretty hot too {Smile}

Hostgator has some very good prices - or SurpassHosting! =D

Whoever you choose - I suggest you google 'INSER COMPANY NAME HERE' Coupons ..

I managed to find a coupon to get the first Month on Hostgator for $0.01 {Smile}

I would second that. Their hosting (like many big companies) is horrible. I'd say that Big Wet Fish are a good choice for starter hosting. They've got some fantastic support.

i use 3ix.org

Competitive pricing, can buy domains through them and if you include with your initial hosting purchase is alot cheaper.

the support at 3ix is very nice. I had a queery about one of their legal documents. I had a consultation with their director of sales within 2 hours. It's good, they are located in several countries with low prices ($1USD/month is pretty good IMO).
