If you want things like posting, creating accounts, logging in, etc. then you need a wide knowledge of [at least] HTML as well as PHP. However if you go in depth and build a proper website, I'm sure you'll be using some more Server Side languages as well. I don't mean a few days; we're talking months. I've been coding PHP for over a year and a half now, and I still don't know everything there is to know about it.
