I've just updated my FTP client to Smart FTP v3. And I must say that although it'll take a bit of getting use to I love some of the new features. I think the best is that I can now edit multiple files at once through just one instance of Smart FTP rather than having 2/3 copies cluttering up my taskbar {Grin}

So does anyone else use Smart FTP or do you have your own preferred client?

Smart FTP is the most common used one, so its makes it easier even for different coders to work together. Smart FTP has all the right features and seems just fine, a bit slow transferring, but it think it depends on the host actually.

Previously iv tried FTP software like CoffeCup FTP and a few other weird ones. IN the End Smart FTP stood out {Cheesy}



Oh and FireFTP is Decent for on the run things XD

I have no idea which client I use, I just use it and not care. {Tongue Out}

Editing multiple files at once is indeed very handy.

I tried using CoffeeCup before. It seems OK for beginners but lacks the more advanced features.

Oh, and I'm now editing 4 files at once {Cool}

Ya, coffeecup is very good for begginers, I used it alot, I still do sometimes {Smile}

I thought FileZilla was a file-managing program-thing {Confused}

I use FireFTP since it's quick and easily accessible.

I use FileZilla too, i like it. Might give SmartFTP a go and see what it's like, as there seems to be some good words said about it.

If I'm going to be editing files I use Dreamweavers built in FTP feature, if I'm just uploading alot of files I use winscp or SmartFTP when if feels like working.

I used to use SmartFTP but ever since the third one came out, my copy has been unoperational. It won't even delete from Add/Remove Programs. {Unsure}

So I just use FireFTP.

In Mandriva, KDE has a bult in FTP client that runs in your explorer window just like a local folder. But instead of typing in /home/artemis/Desktop as the location, I type in the FTP url (ftp://user@domain.com/folder/folder2) and enter my password in the popup. Then I can browse the files like they're on my hard drive, and right click a file to edit (can have as many as I want open, and saving is just a Ctrl+S away ^_^). It literally functions exactly like my desktop.

This is why I refuse to program on windows anymore. ^_^
