Happy Birthday Ross - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 28th Feb 10 at 10:49am
Right, so 'cause Ross is special. He gets to have two days of birthday celebrations! {Tongue Out}

Ross' birthday is supposed to be on the 29th February, however, with this year not being a leap year. Ross doesn't know when to have his birthday (I'm sure he's told me before, but I forgot).

So here it is ... Happy Birthday Ross
(which day do you normally celebrate on + which is vF set to display it on? {Tongue Out} )

It isn't Ross' birthday until the 29th.

He's an oddball.

this may seem random, but if someone did set their birthday as the 29th of feb would vf register it being a leap year XD that be funny seeing someone registering and it saying they are like 3 years old XD

The birthday in my profile is set as the 29th Feb and that shows the correct age {Tongue Out}

Re: Happy Birthday Ross - Posted By Marc (cr0w) on 2nd Mar 10 at 4:02pm
By the way, in case you were wondering exactly why we have leap years...the Earth takes approximately 365.25 days to travel around the sun, so rather than make the new year start at 6am on January 1st or whatever, it's simpler to just count 365 days as a year, and once the .25's add up to a full day, it gets put in the calendar. {Smile}

showing 22 for a leap year birthday isn't exactly the right age XD

from a coding perspective it's almost always easier to calculate an actual number of years (i.e. 22 rather than 3 if it was the 29th of February). But having either of them come up is still better than having a particular game system that broke because it wasn't a leap year o_O

Anyway, Happy belated Ross, sorry I missed the actual non-existent date xD

Thing is though, you're all saying "he's only 5" or whatever.

NO! He's been on this world for 22 years, thus he is 22 years old. (or however many {Tongue Out} ). He has had 5 Birthdays. There is a difference! A big difference.

If you want to be technical, he's only had one birthday. We say "celebrating someone's birthday" because that's what we're doing. We're celebrating the day that person was born. So we've all only had one birthday. {Wink}

Re: Happy Birthday Ross - Posted By Michael (wrighty) on 4th Mar 10 at 9:28am
Indeed, but people were stating how old he was, not how many birthdays he'd had! {Smile}

Re: Happy Birthday Ross - Posted By dog199200 (dog199200) on 4th Mar 10 at 6:33pm
lets sum it up, he's old, and sadly we are all getting there too XD

Don't worry, Rossy; you've still got years and years ahead of you! {Smile}

On a separate and completely unrelated to your age kind of note, have you written your will yet? Am I in it? {Wink}
