Well I'm running Windows 7, and what an improvement over the year, from the Beta, to the RC, and now to the official released version. I absolutely love it!I can run things smoother than I could in WinXP.
How many of you have it?
I'm still running XP on all of my machines, which I am still perfectly happy with. I'll be waiting until I have a reason to upgrade to Windows 7Although when I do have a need (such as needing it for specific software or if one of my current machines dies) I won't mind upgrading to Windows 7. When I brought this laptop I went to great lengths to get one with XP rather than Vista.
I see, but if you would have gotten Vista, you would have gotten the free upgrade. My friend is the one who bought this for me for Christmas.
So I was so happy when he bought it for me. So the last day and a half I've been using Win7.

I was getting sick of XP anyways, somehow it would mess up something. And funny thing about all of this, the last month and a half my DVD drive stops working wouldn't show up in Computer, nor the BIOS. But when my friend brought the package over, it started to work. I was so confused, but happy at the same time, and it's still working too!![]()
I've got XP running through BootCamp (as i'm on a mac) but ive been tempted to go to 7...i just cant be bothered to fork out for it, when XP does all i need it to and it isnt as dreadful as Vista.
We are still on XP at work too, we're not upgrading yet![]()
I've had 7 since before the release (Full version, not RC), and for free. So no reason for me to upgrade. I prefer it to Vista by a hell of alot!![]()

A friend of mine received a free copy with 3 licences of it from Microsoft a while back, and he only needed two, so I'm getting the unused one.
I just need to get around my laziness and take the time to back up all of my stuff before upgrading.

You know if you install over the current OS, it'll make a Windows.old file in the c drive. I forgot some pictures I had on Windows XP, and I was able to get it from the windows.old file. But those were only a few KB files, not sure about bigger files. I guess it's "At your own risk" type of thing.![]()
Jeeze Nick, post about it everywhere.![]()

Of course it is.I could have gotten it WAY before the official release date.
But wasn't gonna risk that, and a virus that'll wreck my computer.

Nice, I think that's what this one is, it asked me if I wanted to install x86 or x62, and of course I chose x86.is your build 7600? or is there no other build numbers? and why are there different build numbers?
