Can someone Plz help me. (24th Jan 08 at 5:28am UTC)
Plz don't ban me for this, but I really have been trying to fix it and the staff at proboards just threaten to ban me basically instead of helping me fix it. For a little while now the adverts haven't been showing up, not on proboards and not here. I posted on proboards to have someone help me fix this and no one will i was just threatened basically, but it came down to other people with the same problem and not just me but still on these forums i cant see the ads, so can someone here plz help me fix it..it is really annoying seeing the box telling me to fix something that i have tried to fix. So here is some information that I think you may need to help me fix this.

* I'm running windows Vista
* I have windows Defender on
* I use FF
* I use Kastersky as an anti-viruse (I have disabled it and they still dont show)
* Also I have tried it in IE and they still dont show.

Again i'm trying to fix it so please don't ban me...

If they're not showing in either browser then there's most probably an ad blocking facility built into your firewall/anti-virus software, there may even be something built into Vista but I've not used it so wouldn't know. Since you've tried disabling the Anti-virus then that leaves "Windows Defender" as a likely culprit. Can you try briefly disabling that and seeing if they show then? If not then how do you connect to the internet? Is it through an external router?

i dont know how to disable windows defender..i dont even know how it got turned on...and this is what i see:

You do not have the Ads Displayed in your browser and as such are breaking the virtualforums.co.uk Terms Of Service.

To stop seeing these messages, please reconfigure your ad-blocker to accept ads from:
pagead2.googlesyndication.com

Or make this forum Ad-Free

Ummand sorry for where i posted t i miss read what the boards title was. and i use a dsl modem and up until i think it was as for last monday that they worked and then they disappeared and i have been running Vista for a couple months now so i dont think thats is...

Let me just make this clear, you wont be banned at all {Smile}

Do you have ad-block for FF?

Also, I'm thinking there might be a block on the ads page.. .Have you got another computer on the network (same internet access) that you could test?

The only possible option here is that you have ad-block software on your computer. Try searching for it from the start menu, or going to your programs list in the control panel and looking for it there.

rroll.to— Shorten a link, rickroll your friends.

Well i think it was something in vista...my hdrive went out yesterday and luckily i had another hdirve and now i'm running XP Pro and i see the ads fine..

Edit: Ok its not Vista,...i reinstalled Kaspersky so i would have an anti virus and now the banners are gone again..so i found the problem and now i wil try to fix it..
