Problem:How do I block an IP address from posting? Also, I seem to get email notifications when messages are posted in some boards but not others. How is this controlled?

It's in the admin options.

On the main page click "Admin Panel"

Under "Moderate Members" click "Ban Members".

In the IP field, enter the IP address you want to block. You might want to add a text note to remind you why you are blocking it in the "Reason Field".

Click the "Update Banned Members" button at the bottom.

I use the wildcard option a lot to block whole countries that are a source of spam.

If you want to block all of N. Korea for example, this list should do it.

175.45.176.*
175.45.177.*
175.45.178.*
175.45.179.*
210.52.109.*
77.94.35.*

Not that I was getting spam from N. Korea, but nothing on my board should appeal to people there.
It takes a little research to determine which IP blocks are assigned to whom.
Indonesian spam is bad. Don't go to China, N. Korea, or Indonesia if you want to post on my forum. {Smile}
