Could be your brightness. The border is set to white (or very close to), and the on/off icons are a slightly darker grey than the window background when set to "off"

pmwww | Re: Boarder/on-off image gone? (16th Apr 10 at 2:43am UTC) | | They were there, before I even posted this. Odd.... o_O and my brightness and back light are low because the white is hard to see. So that shouldn't have a factor. I can see the on button, just not off.
I am using an HDTV with a VGA cord, possibly could be it, but I seriously, doubt it.
ed: It was the contrast, must have changed when I did an auto tune. Well I guess, you can lock this then.
ed2: xD I guess it showed up in the picture. >.< *sigh*
