something odd is going on with topcs... (25th May 09 at 10:34pm UTC)
Resolved
I don't know how to explain, but for some reason, in the Info center, (it seems when ever I post) that a different topic shows, instead of the topic I posted in.

Like this:

The last post made was
A test new topic
Ross

But after I post in the same topic, the info center looks like this:

The last post made was
Wrong vF Version
Ross

at this point wouldn't it show:

The last post made was
A test new topic
Darkmage

??

and then when I exit the Test board, and to the forum home page, it shows this:

8th May 09 at 6:25pm by Ash.
in My Tests

Why is this?

edit:

Now it had shown up when I made this very topic:

The last post made was
A test new topic
Darkmageā„¢

but since this is a recent topic shouldn't my topic show on the side on the home page?

Though it shown this as a recent topic:

11th Aug 08 at 7:21am by Anthony
in Firefox 3+ doesn't like th...

Although that is an old topic....

Oh I'm using FireFox 3.0.10

edit 2:

This is what I am currently seeing as of now:

Image

funny part about it is that, some of them date back to '08 and when I go into that board, allot of them are '09. o_O

Seems strange that I'm seeing something completely different on the home page. To me, the correct last post shows. Could be your browser? Have you tried clearing the cache? There's no reason (that I can think of) that the post it calculates as being the latest would change between refreshes without any posts having been made in-between.

It auto clears for me, as I have it set to do that. It's actually been going on for awhile. It's happened on IE 6, 7 and 8, Safari, and Fx. Both on Vista and Windows XP.

edit:

I just cleared it now, exited the browser, and re-got back on, and still same thing.

I don't notice this on any other forums. Only here.

It shows up now on main page in board, not Anthony's post.

Sorry about that. Was trying a bit of debugging which needed this post to be the latest (as I know it showed the issue). Most bizarre. It looks to have been an old piece of code (which was used in the transition between an older version) which was being too lenient with what last posts it found. The result being that it was finding one which was irrelevant but the limit on the query was preventing it from finding the latest. I never saw it myself (from this account) as I have more boards and so it was still finding the latest posts from all those on the home page. Anyway, I'm hoping that it'll be showing all of the correct posts now?

Yes it works now, this topic showed in the Info center, with your name.

edit:

Checked after I posted, and it shows my name in the recent post.

Showing old posts when new posts are made... again (30th May 09 at 8:04pm UTC)
Report a Bug Board:
Image

The latest one that I saw was Wrighty's post for the Admin Panel, when I clicked into the board.

edit:

Info Center:

Image

Took this after I made this post, which should only be the recent topic, as no one is on at the moment.

I'll check the file version in case the fix got overwritten. Not that I can see why it would have.

* Merges for simplicity *

That took some finding. The original fix had appeared to work but hadn't actually solved the core problem. And after much searching, I found the problem to be being caused by an old (corrupted) topic in one of the test boards which was left over from an old bug with moving topics. Who would have thought that it'd cause such issues {Tongue Out}
