The texture on the planet is poor, the size of the planet is poor with a bad focal on the sig to begin with it can't get much better. The comment/asteroid thing is a good idea - though the execution was poor.
The startfield is mediocre, though it's on it's way there. My suggestion is to check out the following tutorial:

I'm aware it is a PB forum. It's actually my currently closed one. Look through that, some of the ones I was going to link have since broken - however, one to take note of that still has it's image available is:

The flaming thing did start out as a space ship, the execution was poor, I do agree.
I've not looked at any tutorials to do with this before, so thanks for the links. I'll have a look at them and try another one soon. :] | |

pmwwwmsngtalk | Re: Release (20th Aug 08 at 7:42am UTC) | | I have to agree with Sven on this. It's nothing spectacular, but from a beginner in space art you can't expect too much. I think your major flaw was the size. It just seems like you should of gone bigger.
The effects can use work. The gradient in the background looks a bit weird and out of place. The planet, and asteroid could use a bit more detail. Also the star field looks a bit boring, try adding some random space objects out there
Not a bad first try | |
