Does anyone else here like to paintball? What's your favourite kind to do?

I love paintballing, especially woodsball. There's a huge forest right behind my house, as well as across the street. We live in a wetland protection area, so the trees will always be there. {Grin}

We've built barricades, sniper spots in trees, bases, traps, etc. in the forest, so it's the perfect place for paintballing. We've also got areas to put flags in the ground, so CTF is something that can also be done. {Wink}

Speedball is fun, but not my favourite. Something about hiding behind a giant inflatable marshmallow makes it less fun. {Tongue Out}

Speaking of paintballing, I must get ready; meeting friends at the Paintball Arena in an hour. o.O

I've never gone paintballing, even though I have had my own paintball gun. I have no idea what kind it was, and I gave it to a friend because I never used it.

I have played a couple airsoft wars, but not recently. I moved and since them, I don't have the forest by me to play in.

Well, just got back from paintballing; quite a few good bruises on me. {Tongue Out}

It was great; in the very last game, I took out 3 people with 5 balls. {Grin}

Before yesterday, I hadn't played in a long while, either. After a while I forgot how fun it was, but now that I've played again, I'll be getting back into it for sure. {Tongue Out}

Although I do like to play at indoor arenas, they're quite expensive. {Unsure} Even though they're only $10-$15 to get in, most places don't allow you to bring your own paintballs, so I have to pay $35 for 500; when yet I can get them at a nearby army surplus store for $20. {Sad}

I used to play 3 times a week for like 4 months straight. I played speedball and was on a team with a sponsor and I traveled around the state played some semi pro teams, college teams. I quit when all the guys went away to college and I've been invited to try out for 2-3 teams but I don't really want to play with the teams. I haven't played in about a year so I'm selling all my stuff. It was the funnest time of my life when I was playing with my team.

cr0w or ryan if either of you are looking for any gear PM me and I'll send you pics of all of what i'm selling and it's basically going for dirt cheap.

All I really need is a new co2 tank, as mine sprung a leak. {Sad} But I'll be getting a new one tomorrow, so I should be alright. {Wink}

Thanks for the offer, though. {Smile}

I have only paintballed once and it was at a party. I mostly airsoft. My parents would allow paint ball, but for some reason they think it makes more of a mess than airsoft when really I think it's the opposite because paint goes away in rain, bb's don't.

I have a pretty sick woods in my backyard with a cliff, huge rocks, a river ect. So, every few times a month I have friends over and we do a real life sim. of a battle where one person is Osama Bin Laden and he hides and has protectors. The offense has to find OSama and once he gets hit its over. We also played inside a vacant house, but someone called the police on us, and we got in trouble somehow. =/

@ XeroCint: The only times that it's truly painful is when someone has their fps rate set to over 300, and you're shot from fairly close range. But even then, the only "pain" is a few seconds of stinging, and a possible bruise. {Wink}

@ Gray: The paint inside paintballs isn't even real paint. It's just a powder mixed with water. {Tongue Out} That's why a once-over with a pressure washer can clean up an indoor paintball area; the "paint" isn't meant to be resistant to anything, pretty much. {Wink}

Anything over 300 is considered lethal {Smile} most places won't even let you over 280.

And paint isn't just powder and water there is fish oil in it. Also they make staining paintballs.

Over 300 wont kill you. I doubt you could kill someone with a marker, unless you hit them in the eye. It is the safest sport.

The paint is usually water-soluble.

The ones I buy have a powdered solution that is just mixed with water; the powder has an ingredient in it that thickens the water. It saves me about $20 per 500 compared to those with fish oil. {Wink}

Plus staining paintballs are a fairly dumb idea in my opinion; why would you want to get your clothes permanently stained? {Unsure} None of my friends use them, nor do the indoor arenas that I sometimes play in.

I used to use the fish oil ones because it's harder to wipe off during a game because it's greasy.

@Ryan I know they won't kill you but most goggles and paint are rated to withstand at around 300, but the manufacturers usually make them withstand alot more and they choose a lower number so if they break over 300 it would be alot harder to win a lawsuit if you lost an eye because the lense broke.

The paintball arena near me is indoor and they allow no more than 280 FPS, and if you bring your own gun, they must shoot it though the radar thing. If 300 is considered lethal, why do companies make them fire that fast?

Another cool paintball tool which can be annoying if it hits you are the paint grenades. My friends thought it was funny and my whole team betrayed me, joined the other team and all 7 of them threw their nades at me.
