Well it's coming! >.< Does anyone other than me still think that XP > Vista? Vista isn't that amazing to be honest, it has frilly things that's all. It's over safety conscious. I like to hack my Registry among other things, and I know that even attempting it on Vista will perhaps force me to kick it. Perhaps Vista will end up similar to ME (or was it 200?), with Microsoft disowning it. I think that's why they're forcing a new version out! ^_^ Thoughts? Also, in further (older news) support for XP has been lengthened. Meaning Microsoft will continue to produce & sell XP to OEMs that want it. Which is good news because my mum has specified that her next computer CAN'T have Vista on it!

I don't see why people don't like Vista; it's much more user-friendly, more secure, has many new features, and in the 7 months I've owned a copy I've yet to have problems with it.

The fact that it's more secure I don't like. I'm not overly keen on the new look either. I guess I'm old school! But yea. XP is > Vista!

I love windows xp. I don't like windows vista. Everything that i have isn't compatible with vista. I tried it and my computer crashed .

I've been using my laptop which runs on Vista since last August and I've had no problems with it. It's basically the only computer I use, and since I'm a Computer Science student, I use it a lot. Almost all my programs work fine on it. I really don't see what everyone is complaining about...

The only problems I have ever seen Vista have is when you upgrade your computer from XP (or whatever) up to Vista. At first it works fine then problems start to arise left and right. I have had many different experiences from this. However if the computer was built specifically for it and came with it preinstalled, I have seen absolutley no problems with it that couldn't be quickly fixed.

Someone I know is a designer and when he got his replacement machine with vista preinstalled I had to uninstall it all and put XP on instead for him. None of his mega expensive software packages would work on Vista and for him to buy all of their newest software would have cost over a £1000. Until everything is more compatible, I've no intention of "Upgrading". And I wouldn't be at all surprised if it ends up like Windows 2000 o.O

It has nothing to do with compatibility on Vista's end, though. After every major update most programs don't work as they use different ways of making everything work. The problem is with companies not willing to spend the time to upgrade their software. Wrighty, what don't you like about it being more secure?

My freinds laptop runs in Vista its FTW!, he plays all his games on there, no problems, even the ones specifically for XP still runs and works better on Vista. And what happened to 2000?

Oh ok, well some class's at my school still use 2000, and they work just fine. or is it failure for customers on buying the OS?

I thought Windows ME was the one that failed so much (BSOD all over the place), and windows 2000 is fine. It's still widely used...

i love vista, ya it is buggy, but in time all bugs are fixed, but also i dont have many bugs maybe because i do have vista business, but i love a lot of the newer updates, and hell its so secure! my anti-virus expired so i removed it and yet i dont have any viruses at all! and as well it keeps your pc up to date at all times.
