Music is ruddy everywhere. But what do you listen to? Are you against or for downloading of music? And the most important question - do you have a last.fm? {Tongue Out}

Alternative rock. {Smile}

I'm for downloading music if a band has already made millions [and if the artist doesn't donate a decent amount to charity], but am against it for newly emerging bands who don't make a lot of money yet. {Smile}

And no, I don't have a last.fm {Tongue Out}

Alternative/Indie Rock. They seem to be the same genre, but I'm not sure, so I'll say both. {Tongue Out}

I'm with Cr0w on downloading music. {Smile}

Rawr!? - I've had it for ages, but only figured out that you had to download something for it to work about six weeks ago. As you can tell from that, I listen to a lot of music. {Tongue Out}

There's some good bands there - Death Cab in particular! Shame about James Blunt and 50 Cent {Tongue Out}

As for me, it's mainly indie/alternative but there's some heavier stuff thrown in plus some jazz. I write for The National Student (a UK student magazine/website) for the music side, which means i get lots of opportunities to meet and interview lots of artists {Cheesy} I've got 3 gigs lined up already for next year: Les Savy Fav, Eels and Foo Fighters. There's more to come and i want to fit in at least one festival too.

As for downloading - i'm of the ilk that will download one or two songs of a band to see if i'll like it, then i'll buy the album. There's nothing better than buying a new album, reading the booklet etc. {Smile} The other time i'll download is if there's no opportunity to buy it, or it's far too espensive (imports etc).

My last.fm is in my sig currently, so feel free to check it out. There's a fair bit of music there, but not as much as there should be as i did change accounts a while back.

So, to keep this thread going a bit {Tongue Out} Has anyone got any good gigs lined up? Have you ever been to any, or want to go to any?

My list for 2008 is as follows:

10th Feb: Les Savy Fav, London Astoria
March 2nd: Eels, Brighton Centre
June 7th: Foo's, Wembley Stadium.

I want to get at least one festival in there too, and there will be more gigs added soon as i'm speaking to a few friends in certain circles {Wink}

Soon I'll be going to see The Raynes. And then I'm playing at Battle Of The Bands within the next month or two. {Cool}

Just checking out The Raynes, and they sound really good! Very much of the same ilk as Lifehouse, Goo Goo Dolls, The Fray et al {Smile}

Thanks, but no thanks. {Tongue Out} If I ever get a record deal, it will be from Stonecliff Records [owned by The Raynes]. {Wink}

As for instruments, I play acoustic & electric guitar, as well as sing lead. However, I can also play drums, bass, and keyboard. ^_^

We haven't recorded any of our songs yet, since our drummer's been out of town lately. When we get some recorded, though, I'll post them. {Smile}

I listen to mostly all types of rock. Metal, Death Metal, Heavy Metal, black metal, soft rock, hardcore, grunge, I listen to it all.

I'm helping to promote 2 bands at the moment. (Both on myspace, yet one, which is here, had like 75 plays when I first found them) I play the guitar (acoustic and electric), drums, and I can sing a little.
