pmwww | | Is this fair? (14th Dec 07 at 8:52pm UTC) | | Alright, yesterday morning I wasn't at school because I was sick, but I had to go to school for last period because we were starting an assignment, and I had to pitch in money for my group, otherwise they wouldn't have been able to start that day.
I had my mom write me a validation note, and the office validated my absence. This morning, I went to careers class. We had an assignment due today; one that I only had about 10 more minutes of work needed to finish.
Now, I told her that my absence was validated, that I was sick, and that I had no way of completing it, as it was all the on the school computer and I didn't expect to be away yesterday.
She said, "In a real world situation, you would have to find a way to get it finished on time anyway, so it's now considered late."
I argued, "No, in a real world situation, I would call in sick [which I did], and then the assistant project manager would complete it. And how is it fair that you take 15% off when i had no way of finishing it? You can't rightfully take those marks away, and you know it."
She replied, "Do you want to talk to your VP about this? He'll agree."
I [practically yelling] reply, "Okay, maybe I will. Then you can call my parents and have them prove you wrong, too. They'll agree that you have no right to take those marks away. It's unfair and you know it. I think you just don't like me because I already know everything this course has to offer, and you don't know how to teach someone like me."
She angrily replies, "Okay, I'll call your parents."
Now, she called my parents, and big surprise, they agree with me. So they'll be calling her on Monday, as well as sending a note with me to school on Friday to give to my Vice Principal.

Thanks.
Her excuse is that we've had two weeks to work on it, and it should've been done a while ago...if that was true, then why had we been told we'd get every day this week to work on it, and why did every person in the class except one need yesterday to finish theirs up?
And to add, my presentation was much more complex than everyone else's. | |
