Ok Hi {Grin} .

I your admin panel scroll down to, Forum Maintenance were you will see Manage Forum Permissions click on that . Then you will see View Boards click on that and whichever board you would like to be viewed put a checkmark in the box .

You should be good to go {Grin} . Do click on Save Permissions after . {Smile}

You can logout and check it. ^_^.

When Permissions are made if the square is CHECKED it means YES, if unchecked it means NO

ok, so I have a section on my forum called Friends 2 and I want this public but the rest of my catergories private. So does a guest need to register or can the just post on this section only? And if they do register then they become junior members dont they? so that means they can see all the forum...yes? this I dont want to happen as I have other junior members who do need access to the private forum. Does that make sense? {Confused}

If what you are saying is that You have certain members who are junior members and you only want them to view a certain board those people will see it yes. But anyone that is a junior member will see that board(s) I am not sure how you have your forum set up for Members Ranks but the default for when people are registering they would be "New Member" that member rank will not be able to view the junior's group board.

like on this forum members can see every board/category besides the staff section. Its hidden to all members besides all the staff members. This is where the "Permissions" feature comes in handy.

Yes it make sense {Grin} .

Do this :
Admin Panel > Board Settings > Modify Board < click it
in dropdown look for Chat <click on Continue
where it says Viewing / Posting Permissions below that you'll see little boxs just make sure all have checkmarks in them and then click on Modify Board, and that should of done what you want to do .
