I'm very proud of how far I was able to go back! I would've included more of my mother's side... but she's adopted, so I don't think its worth tracing it as we're not close to my mother's family.
So anyways. Nobody of my direct blood ancestors on my father's side at least, haven't immigrated to this country since the 1600s.  Or earlier! So before we were a country and under the rule of the British  Wait... what?! I was British. /cry I'm an American.
So my great, great, great, great, great grandma Susannah and grandpa John (they weren't married, seperate sides) were related, because of the fact their parents were the same. They were like 3rd cousins due to the generation mismatch. I found a lot of intermarriages with a few other family names, primarily Martin. It seems the town my ancestors lived in was extremely tiny.
So anyways, how far have you traced your tree back? Did you find anything weird? | |
