Just as a note Ross - I got it up & working now! So I thank you for it - but didn't get the downtime fixed... how about you?

--------

Ross - you might want to look into the code(s) that you have posted in that entry, there are a few errors here & there ... {Sad}

I was advised to email a feedback@ address. I'm waiting for my response but I didn't get around to sending the e-mail until gone midnight so don't expect a reply until tomorrow anyway.

The script posted there has two problems with it.
1. It was based on the old monitoring script. I've since made a number of adjustments to the live one; adding conditions for sending a notifications, limiting the number of SMS messages sent, having a variable number of minutes for a server to be offline before sending SMS. Plus other changes I don't remember now.

2. I broke the code into several sections to better explain how it is working. I expect some crumbs got left off.

You managed to get it working though? Were there any major errors which would of had people really stumped?

One thing that I didn't notice for a while was that you have 2 folders 1 named 'servers' and one 'status' [I think] ... you need to make sure to change these to 'servers' ... I think the latter was when you were retrieving the 'cached' settings.

And yea - I've modified the code a small bit - will be modifying it more to limit SMS like you said. But the front end of mine is what's very sexy! {Tongue Out}

Also the cron job is setup differently, due to cPanel being used...

Ahh. Took a while to see where you mean but yeah. I can see how that's confusing. I'll change both to "servers". Thanks {Smile}
