Computer Cleaning (9th Apr 08 at 6:57am UTC)
Well.. I decided to clean my computer last night, and this morning {Tongue Out} Anyways I cleaned it up pretty amazingly.

Before I started I had 6.65 Gigs free out of 68 gigs. My internet speed was average. I had random crap running all the time, and my pc was just over all slow.

Now I have 38.5 Gigs free. My internet ( Thanks to a few programs ) is faster. I also have less processes running at a time and start up is very fast.

How many of you clean your computer?

I've just reformatted this machine as the OS seemed to corrupt itself, which was a massive ballache {Sad} I'm only now getting it close to how i had my old setup.

What programs do people use to speed things up? I've got a disk of stuff somewhere, but for the life of me i can't remember where i've put it {Sad}

I vacuum inside mine about once a year and dust the outside every week {Smile}

Oh, not that kind of cleaning {Tongue Out} Well I had to replace my HDD a couple of months ago as my old one refused to work with my new motherboard. So at the moment it's not too bad. I definitely need to sort out the anti-virus on here though and put on something half decent (Norton FTL {Tongue Out} )

Yeah, I'm with you on the AV situation. Norton won't let me delete it, even in safe mode; get an error saying my subscription hasn't expired. Seems more like a virus than AV software. {Tongue Out}

Nortans just plain out sucks, i use Kaspersky its better. But as for cleaning my pc, i clean it inside and out, I vacuum it out once a month and make sure i have my CPU fan clean because i have had a CPU fry because there was to much dust in the fan and heat sink to cool the CPU. and as for Program cleaning, its simple, i delete what ever i dont use in my pc, i only have programs that i use often it in, I run a disk cleanup once a week, i run defragment after i do a disk cleanup, i clean my Cashe every night, as well as browser history and cookies. Instead of having messengers downloaded into my pc i use meebo.com (Check it your self to understand what it is) and i dont use any programs to make my pc run faster, but i do use a little Command Promt trick that makes my RAM process faster.
