I don't have a PayPal account nor want one. I must have one in order to use an American credit card to purchase ad free.
I tried using a Visa and a Mastercard. Both were declined, and support replied fast saying that was the reason. Do you have Google Checkout or something? I have no intention of getting a PayPal account, last time I tried to get one they wanted my rent bill, social security number and phone bill.
They shouldn't need any of those things.
I think it's best for Ross to have an alternative (Google Checkout) even if it isn't fully advertised and is only used in situations like this.
Yeah. I still have screenshots of them asking for it. X-X It annoys me as hell.
Google Checkout I can use. I have an account with them as well. =D
Out of interest, why don't you want a PayPal account?![]()
I'm in the process of setting up Google Checkout. I won't be integrating it into the adfree payment system just yet (doing so with paypal took days to setup & test properly) but will have it avaliable for cases like this.
Hi, please use this link to access the google checkout payment system:

Damn. Google is doing the same thing:
DISCOVER CARDS CANNOT TRANSACT IN GBP
NOT ACCEPTED.
Trying Visa now.
Okay it accepted the Visa. ^_^ That was the last of that prepaid card. xD My discover isn't prepaid (or MasterCard but I never use the mastercard as I never am in debt. I don't go spending crazy)
I bought four bucks USD worth of ad free credits now. Probably will get some later as I get a new visa card or may use my mastercard.
I've applied the credits to your account![]()
Thanks Ross. ^_^ I'll enable them when I feel I completed some things. =)
Thanks for adding Google checkout, Ross![]()
Hmm...so Ross, next time I feel to pay, can I use Google Checkout again? But let you know in advance or say so here?

So long as you let me know here that you've used it. It's just in case I forget to check my google checkout account and manually apply the credits![]()
Go ahead and reverse it Ross. Google just sent a message declined.
But this got annoying from the paypal attempt and google attempt:
01/06/2008 Purchase - GOOGLE GOOGLE.COM/CHUS 800632478079 ($1.00)
01/06/2008 Purchase - PAYPAL 4029357733 US 021205471501 ($1.00)
They both took a buck from me. Wells Fargo is getting a earful when they open. XD Oh well, at least they are pretty good at restoring funds eventually. To think of it it did the same for a thirty five buck order it took all the funds from me as well. Wells Fargo and Visa just said "VeriSign is down" oO. Doubt that's the reason it wouldn't be down for a second time in a week.
Wish Discover was taken though.
Trying as Mastercard now. It's tied with a different bank.
The credits have been applied to your account![]()
Got my Visa working again, bought more through PayPal. Reciet was sent. =D
Also I'm getting this error: Invalid Date Format when I try to apply them.
How many credits are you trying to apply and to which month?![]()
1 to Feburary. I tried the same for January.
I found the error which was being caused by the fact this is the first time ad-free was being applied to that forum and thus why I couldn't duplicate it here. Anyway, I've fixed it and have applied 1 credit to february for you just to test it.
Thanks Ross. =)
Also yo ur PayPal thing didn't send me back to the vForums website after I purchased like it said it would in Safari.

Have the credits appeared in your account? And what exactly happened when you reached the final page? From my memory, there should have been a link saying "Return to ____"
Nope. And I did click that link. Want me pull up a screenshot of th econfirmation in my email? (from PayPal)
I don't think that'll be necessary. I'll just double check the amount on the system our end and and while I'm at it I'll double check the return URL. What page did you get when you clicked the return link?
The last page PayPal returned me to. But since I am American it did refresh a few times to set the currency and country (for address lines) correctly. I did this in Safari as well.
