or is this from my host?

As far as I can see, the API itself is working. Which leave the possibilities of either:
- A problem in your implementation. For example, I'm not sure if the system is designed to work with the www. on the front there. Did this script used to work or did the problem occur after changing something?
- A problem with your host. I don't remember the exact settings, but it's possible they're blocking the required connections, possibly in the firewall.

Having said that, it'd be useful to know what action(s) within the API you are trying to access. Can you also post lines 115 - 120 of your vforums_api.php file you're using - by looks of things it's missing one of the simple speed enhancements.

Forgot to mention 20 minutes after that post it started to work.

I never changed anything in my files. SO that's where I was confused.

By sounds of things then a communication problem somewhere along the line between your host and our server.
Glad to hear it sorted itself out.
