Problem:
Hello,

I've searched the forum without any success.
I've got one user which never received the validation email. We have checked the spam, basket and any other folders...
The email which he has typed in at registration was correct.
When he tries to have it resend, nothing is received neither.

As the main administrator of the forum, I should have a mean to control, force or resend the validation, but I have not any.

We tried with an other account, but same problem... Is it possible that AOL is filtering the registration mail at its server level? (AOL is his email provider)

How can I go through this? I have to get this user registered with this name.
Thank you for your quick answers.

Hi NeutrinOps,

Chances are AOL is blocking the email if he's tried to have it send multiple times with no success. I would suggest having him try an address from a different provider (such as Gmail or Hotmail, if possible).

As a side note, the reason the main admin account has no control over other users' email validation is to prevent someone signing up under someone else's email address and then having that other person receive unsolicited email. The current validation system is set up in a way to ensure that the user at the registered address actually wants to receive emails from the forum. {Smile}

One moment.... on the other hand, since he can not validate the registration, he has no mean to change his profile email and then its a deadlock...
unless I change his address...

Anyway, let's have a try {Smile}

Well.
Done.
But since he still have no validation message, and I can not resend it, how can he validate this account. I need this account and not a new one.... {Sad}
I understand the Security reasons about necessity of validation by the user. But what if the user missed the message. There is no way to get it resend... The account is locked up and lost.

In case you can unlock it, or resend the validation, the name is Verman, beware we had to create 3 similar accounts to perform it right with the final.

We made with a new account and with an email address not AOL.This is temporary, please try to unlock the original account, or at least give me a bypass to force to resend the validation email.

Thanks.

Damn AOL which is filtering emails without even informing the user... grrr

Hi,

From the e-mail validation page it is possible to change the e-mail address & resend the validation key. Just have the user login (they can login even without the account being validated) & visit this page:
