Experienced By: someone needing to register, and then myself when i tried
Browser: he's on a std IE I think, I'm on Safari
Operating System: He's on XP or Vista, I'm on Apple Tiger
Problem: I have had some users register successfully but today someone tried to register, and they were given an "unknown error" when they clicked on Register.
I have also tried to register (today, as someone else), and was sent to a page with:
An unknown error has occurred. Please contact our support forum (Log ID: 1256333131)
I have searched a little on the support site, but couldn't see anything obvious. Apologies if this is a faq.
Can anyone help?
Hi there
I've tried to register for the forum using a test account, and am having a similar issue. This will be dealt with by Ross as soon as he is next available![]()
Well I just registered, and got in just fine??
I am using Windows XP SP2, FireFox 3.5.3. and registered just fine.
I imported the account from this support forum though. So could it just be regular registering?
EDIT
Yes it's just normal registering that does it as I got:
An unknown error has occurred. Please contact our support forum (Log ID: 1256340819)
Hi,
Should be working fine on that forums now. Can anyone confirm if they're able to register on other forums?
- Ross
I can register just fine on my test forum: http://dmtesting.vforums.co.uk
All fixed now thank you - was it something I had done or just a glitch?
thanks again.

It could have been, although, more likely it was something on VForums side. (*I think*)
The reason I say that, is because the message said to contact Support. Had it been a coding error you made (entering a code), it wouldn't of said that.

It's related to a new feature which was launched recently. Although the necessary updates in order for this feature to work had already been made to the database structure of all existing forums, the ones created more recently did not have the necessary changes. So nothing you did wrong![]()
phew!
Thanks again for the swift fix![]()
