Browser: FF3/IE, other guests unknown
Operating System: Windows XP, Guests OS Unknown
Problem:
Right I have "board viewable by guests" checked, but when I am either on FF3, or IE, it says "An Error Has Occurred: You must login to access this area."
I want guests to view my boards, so they become interested.
That's probably why I am not getting any members, but I do get over 100 page views daily (well users online in the past 24 hours area).
What could be the problem?
I double checked the "Manage Forum Permissions" area, and for the guests its all green (besides the staff area) and its all checked.

Guests cannot access those boards because you've set the category it is in to only be accessible to members. You need to uncheck all boxes for the category to allow guests access to that area.
Nopeits all checked, and guests still are not able to view the boards. They can see all the content, but not the content in the boards.

Ohmis read it. oops XD
edit:
Ok I un-checked them, and still they are not able to view the content of the boards. I went into the "View Boards" un-check the guest column, then I went into the "View Categories" and the Guest column is not there.

If you want guests to view, then all the boxes in the "modify category" page need to be unchecked - if you check them, then only those groups will be able to access it - for example, checking them all will essentially make it "members only" and unchecking them all will make it viewable to everyone, including guests![]()

Ok So I un-checked them.... Guests still cannot view inside the boards.
I went into the "Modify Category" individually un-checked them all.

I didn't check them all, but in the "Announcements" board, you've unchecked the "view board" for guests![]()
Well that worked.
Then I went into the "manage forum permissions" then checked the guests column in the view boards area.
But what I don't get is that, Ross told me to un-check all the guest box's? when I first made this thread I made sure that the guest column's were checked.
So I do not understand how that is.

No, he said:
- unchecking the boxes in the category permissions, not unchecking the "guests" bozes in the board permissionsGuests cannot access those boards because you've set the category it is in to only be accessible to members.
