Is she using Yahoo?

Ask her to try changing her email to one of a different provider, if she has one.

I'v had major problems with Yahoo on trying to get the emails, so I switched to my MSN and got the email right away.

You know I have been having the same problems, I was going to make a thread about it. But I have several people having the same problems, I can receive the email and I use yahoo well @sbcglobal.net Which is still yahoo. But they use @yahoo and @hotmail.com and they don't get the emails.

Re: Validating - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:02am
Have they had the email sent to there Hotmail email?

Re: Validating - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:06am
I had one they tried to validate their email through hotmail, and no email, she tried several times, she uses @msn.com and still nothing.

I use @hotmail

Have her check her email settings, on both yahoo and msn and tell her to make sure junk mail is not automaticly deleted.

Re: Validating - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:16am
I already told her that.

Re: Validating - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:21am
Just have her try having the email sent one more time to her msn, but tell her to double check her email settings before requesting.

Re: Validating - Posted By Nick (nickb) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:24am
She tried it 3 times {Tongue Out}

Re: Validating - Posted By Tim (grievous) on 22nd Mar 08 at 5:25am
4th time could be the charm. {Wink}

plus, I think it also has to do with how busy the the system is.

Yeah lets just wait for him to answer first .

Lets see what Ross says.

I agree; Ross is the only one who can see if the emails have been sent, so saying "try again, try again" won't do much until we get Ross' point of view on what's happening. {Wink}

Re: Validating - Posted By Ross (admin) on 22nd Mar 08 at 10:28am
I've just requested her a new key and tracked the email through the system. It shows up as having been sent OK so if it's not received then it must be an issue with her provider blocking it. I believe we've had some problems with yahoo users being blocked before so has she tried having it sent to a different address such as a googlemail or hoitmail one?

Note: nobody except Canada need reply

Re: Validating - Posted By CåñåÐå™ (canada) on 22nd Mar 08 at 12:41pm
Ok i'll have her check to see if she got it , if not i'll have her change her email address to her gmail one. Thanks Ross i'll let you know what happens as soon as i do .

There are now several people that have reported to me that have not even gotten an email One called reydaitso, and another called dante. I will PM the emails to you Ross.

When validation is not required via "Forum Settings", then an email will not be automatically sent. The user must manually click the "Resend Validation Key" button on the validation page. A message will be added to this page explaining it as I get the feeling some people don't understand what they have to do.
