Well, as a current proboards user, i'm wondering if the codes for proboards, or at least the majority of them, will modify vForums. Just asking this question before i create a forum.

Most probably not.

However, most of the things codes are used for are already features built in. And things that aren't built in, can be converted

Like wrighty said most proboards codes dont work but i think some do i am just guessing.
