How about having an Portal for forums where it will show before you go to the forum and you can have it for the admin to enabled or disabled it.
If you're going to do that, then a whole portal page will have to be developed.
I like the ideas of portals, however, for this to be a worthwhile addition, it'll need a lot of extra things.
I think this could work as a code, but as portals seem to be a bit of a "marmite" thing i don't think it'd work as an actual addition.
However, i've been wrong before
Ok just seeing if it was a good idea or not. Seeing the one Ross helped Peter with i thought it would of been good as an option here. But i can also see what you guys have said as well .
I think a portals would be a pretty large step. It'd make vForums less of a forum host and more of a webhost with a awesome forum software. A whole new system would have to be set up to allow customizing the portal. Unless it's just an image... and honestly, image portals are annoying. If they're a must, it can be a code.
Currently I'm making an admin panel hack to make admin-editable pages far easier. After that, making a portal using JS wouldn't be too hard. Though I must admit Ross, having the H&F be accessed via POST as opposed to GET is quite a hassle because I have to throw in "in-between pages" with nothing more than a continue button.
Anyways, once I finish up this admin panel hack (1-2 more days depending on how much time I get) I'll post a thread in the coding board so you guys can suggest features.

/action/admin/page/headers_footers/header_footer_id/+/ - Global header/footer
/action/admin/page/headers_footers/header_footer_id/-/ - Main header/footer
/action/admin/page/headers_footers/header_footer_id/board_id/ - Board header/footer
Gracias, that will certainly make things much easier.Currently I'm making an admin panel hack to make admin-editable pages far easier. After that, making a portal using JS wouldn't be too hard. No worries.
i think that would be a great idea to add, a portal would be awesome to add, i could see myself using it, but if added i would suggest adding an option of where you wnat it to show, when you enter the site or through a button.
