Ross now that we can have youtube and google video , which is great.
I'm wondering if it will be possible to also be able to post others , like mega-video , which will also be handy for forums like mind.
As some of the music videos i'll like to have is mainly on mega as well.
Thanks for taking the time to view this thread.
got to hijack this a bit and add in more, also you know adding in Myspace Videos would be nice as well
Having Mega Video would be awesome, because you can post some Anime shows, like if you own an Anime forum, or have an anime section.
Also Hulu.com (I know that hulu will know show outside the states, but it still would be a good thing to have.)
(hulu's embed code)
Code:
- <object width=512 height=296><param name="movie" value="http://www.hulu.com/embed/vAp01sYoaDKCA-5LRjPVlA"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><embed src="http://www.hulu.com/embed/vAp01sYoaDKCA-5LRjPVlA" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullScreen="true" width=512 height=296></embed></object>
Not sure how it can be direct linked though.![]()

Yeah its why i thought it would be good to add Mega-Video along with the rest.
I've been meaning to add MetaCafe support for a while. I can look into Mega Video but cannot make any promises. Are there any others I should consider? Unfortunately each one added can be quite time consuming so I'll only be adding major ones.
We are a UK based service. Having a feature like that which would only apply to American users wouldn't really make sense.Having Mega Video would be awesome, because you can post some Anime shows, like if you own an Anime forum, or have an anime section.

Thank you Ross.
Adding MegaVideo would possibly be good, but I feel that it may cause quite a few ToS violations. MegaVideo is stockpiled with illegally uploaded movies, and other copyrighted material; if this was added as an allowed site, I have a feeling that people would post videos which infringe copyright, and possibly cause more trouble than it's worth.
Marc@ if you really want to get technical you'd have the same problem with any video host, INCLUDING YOUTUBE![]()
Ross@ Veoh is another one that could be added in![]()
YouTube checks for copyright infringement when the video is being processed; MegaVideo only checks for infringement upon receiving a complaint.
I was mainly referring to the fact that there would be problems with copyright and mainly ToS. Not even youtube blocks all explicit material
I think that with a lot of videos, it relies on the person linking to it/uploading it to use common sense. I think that if one were to be linked, then as long as it is removed then there shouldn't be a problem.
As for which ones to be added, i haven't got much of a preference as i don't use many others apart from YT and occasionally Google vids.
Like people can still put MV into Headers and Footers of their site, and if they put a bad video up, it'd be still a ToS Violation. If it gets reported then actions would be the same as embedding the videos in the post. People can even put inappropriate images in the H/F/posts. and still have a ToS violation. I guess in terms there is no escaping Tos Violations, the person who uses your service should have common sense not to have bad videos/pictures on their forums.
