Pretty self explanatory; can we has this?

I was looking at the potential for something like this not long ago. It is something I would really like to implement as it's one of the most annoying parts of the PM system. I've never seen it done elsewhere though so wouldn't mind some ideas on layout, functionality etc.

I dont get what this would do.

Expand/collapse each part of the convo.

It would make Private Messages look more like threads. The first PM sent would look like the first post in a thread. Then, the person replying/quoting would send a PM back, and that would appear below the first PM, just as in a thread. If you look at the way this thread looks, it would be the exact same, except for PM's.

Ross, I think for the layout, it should be pretty much the exact same as a thread, with the same features [except the ones like lock/sticky. ]
