Well, if you click on any thread with 2 pages in it, instead of going to the most recent post made by that user, it goes to the first page.

It wouldn't be a browser thing; server-side runs before anything gets sent to the browser.

It send you to the first new post. So if you viewed the thread when there were 15 replies and then came back a while later when there's 23 replies, you'd still be taken to page 1 as there's posts there which you haven't read. That's what's supposed to happen anyway.
