When starting a new line in a reply, if you use a smily then it won't show properly. However, if you add a space before, it will.

For example:

Without a space:


With a space:


It's not a big thing, but it could get frustrating.

That's only some of the smilies I have noticed..

Smilies have always needed a space before them; what am I missing?

No, I swore I posted one without a space before it!

They should all work at the start of lines as of the next update.

As soon as possible. I've been working on getting the duplicate post ID bug fixed by rewriting most of the posting and moderation systems. I've not got many more bits to finish off on that. Then I'll try and finish the announcement feature and multi-topic moderation features as well as a few other bug fixes before next year. So if everything goes to plan, it should only take a few hours.

Actually, I still have another thing to add.

Don't forget to also check if the smiley appears directly after a [quote] tag. Otherwise if someone puts a smiley at the very start of their post, then their post is quoted, it won't show the smiley.

The way I've set it up, the smiley will appear if it comes directly after a new line, a UBBC tag or a space.
