if I delete the actuall thread, the announcement stays behind in every board it is set to display in. The announcement should automatically disappear as well.

OK, so you deleted the board rather than the topic itself. I've ammeneded the board deleting page to stop it occuring again and have manually removed that announcement. Unless you want the contents of it still?

The contents would be amazing, if you could move the thread to an existing board.
